Shooting a Gun Out of A Tent Chair Blind
by Galen Garner

Fargason Outdoors offers a variety of outdoor products for the outdoor adventurer. With 2008 here, Fargason Outdoors will also be coming out with a variety of new products to satisfy the needs of outdoor savvy people everywhere. Currently in our hunting line, we offer the SCENTite® Tent Chair® Blind Sportsman, Original and Magnum. All three of these products can be viewed at our SCENTite® Online Store.

This month, I would like to give some good pointers when it comes to hunting game out of a Tent Chair® Blind with a rifle, pistol or shotgun. There are many factors that come into play when using one of our blinds for gun hunting. Location is probably one of the most important things to think about when using a Tent Chair® Blind because this brings up a number of different scenarios. A few questions you should ask yourself when finding a place to hunt out of a Tent Chair® Blind are:

1.Do I have good visibility of the area I am hunting?
2.Is there any obstructions that would cause a difficult shot?
3.Am I able to move comfortably to my left and right for a variety of different shot opportunities?

These are just a few things that you should think about when using a Tent Chair® Blind for gun hunting. If you ask yourself these question and can answer yes to all three of them, there is a very good chance you have found a nice location to hunt from.

At Fargason Outdoors, we stress that people should practice out of a Tent Chair® Blind with a bow, but it is also a great idea to practice with your gun. Try aiming in different directions out of your blind and really test it out, so you know there is no limitations when you have a “Big Boy” buck in your sights. By doing this, it will also increase the safety factor for you and for others that might be hunting with you.

Good luck hunting and we hope you enjoy your SCENTite® Tent Chair® Blind!

Archery hunting from a Tent Chair Blind
by Brad Edwards

Before the hunting season begins, make sure to practice your archery from your Tent Chair Blind. When you are shooting from a Tent Chair Blind, your arrows projection is totally different than it would be from a treestand.

For example, when I am shooting at a deer that is 20 yards away, I use my 10-yard pin. The reason for this is because the amount that you hold low depends on several factors. These factors are the elevation that you are shooting from to your target, the distance and the speed of your arrow.

This is why you should practice shooting from your Tent Chair Blind at different distances. Make a mental note of where you are hitting at these distances because not everyone has access to a range finder. You can mark your shooting lanes in the field prior to the hunt and this will help out as well. It is just as easy as tying some marking tape to a few tree branches and grass stalks to give a visual of the 20, 30, or 40 plus yard shot you may attempt.
