History

Growing up in the state of Alabama, I have always been exposed to many wonderful experiences in God's great outdoors. As a child, my father and grandfather made sure that I had plenty of hunting/fishing stories by the time I reached early adulthood. From their leadership and guidance, I found a new appreciation for the outdoors and have been working in the outdoor industry since 2002.

Throughout my summers in college and for a year after graduating from the University of Alabama, I worked as a horse wrangler/outdoor guide in the states of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. While living in the West, I grew to love all the outdoor activities that the American West had to offer from flyfishing to extreme horseback riding in the mountains.

After moving back to Alabama in September 2007, I took a job at Fargason Outdoors to help in the advertising and marketing department. I am truly blessed to have found a company that shares my faith in the Lord and a job that allows me to combine my love for the outdoors with my skills in digital media.

Favorite Fargason Outdoor Product

My favorite Fargason Outdoor product in by far the Scentite Tent Chair Blind Magnum. The reason that I enjoy the Magnum so much is that it keeps me totally confined from whatever game I am hunting. I particuarly like the fact that the Magnum can handle my size. At 6'3 and 220 pounds, it isn't always easy to find a ground blind that can support a big guy, but the Scentite Magnum does the trick!

Favorite Outdoor Story

I would probably have to say that my favorite story has to be when my brother, Josh and I were hunting in Franklin County, Alabama at a friends farm. It was 70 degrees on New Years Day 2005 and we were hunting in jeans and t-shirts. There had been no deer movement at all during the day because it was so unseasonably warm.

After lunch, Josh and I was sitting on a stand that overlooked the edge of the property line. The resident farm dog, George decided that he wanted to take off chasing cows through the pasture at around four in the afternoon. Well, we figured that was our hunting for the afternoon. It is funny how whenever I thought this, a deer came bursting out of the brush below our stand.

Without thinking, I wheeled my rifle around and shot the deer. No sooner than I had squeezed off a shot, I felt the extrutiating sound of a seven mag in my left ear because Josh decided that I couldn't shoot the dear by myself. He managed to blow the entire back left quarter out of the deer.

After I finally gathered my myself, I asked Josh, "What in the world was that for?" The only answer that he managed to come up with was, "I dunno, I guess it was just a reflex."
