History

I was born in Birmingham, Alabama and have been blessed with great parents who introduced me to the many outdoor activites that our state provides. For many years, fishing was the sport that fueled my love for the outdoors. Then about twelve years ago, I jumped into hunting and it has consumed me in a way that only fellow hunters can understand. Hunting deer is my first choice, although no matter which game you pursue it will leave you with an experience unlike none other.

I have been friends with Bill Fargason since 1997 and in 2005, he asked me to be a member of the Fargason Outdoors team working as the Sales Manager. Being able to work in a great environment around something I enjoy makes my daily working experience very enjoyable.

Favorite Fargason Outdoor Product

Each product found here at Fargason Outdoors will outfit your needs whatever they may be. One of my favorite products is the Tent Chair Blind Sportsman. It provides me with excellent sight and cover regardless if I am bird hunting with my shotgun or bow hunting for that big buck . The best part is how lightweight this Tent Chair is and the large variety of game that I can hunt out of it. Either way, it has been a successful tool for me in my hunting adventures.

Favorite Outdoor Story

About eight years ago I had the opportunity to join a club in Sumter County Alabama with my father and a few friends. This took place a few years after being introduced to hunting. Just as any new comer to the sport, I was overwhelmed with the excitement of taking my first deer and other game. Although, nothing could prepare me for the once in a life time experience I would face in the winter of 2002.

It was a cold January morning and the conditions couldn’t have been more ideal. I started my normal routine of coffee, jokes, and stand selection. My field choice was due to the swirling winds and for some reason it had become a forgotten spot that year. The field was in excellent shape and about 9:45 the deer started to move. Within minutes I saw the first buck and he was a young four point. In the middle of chasing around some does, he froze and became extremely occupied with a rustle in the brush. A couple of stomps later and out walks a six point. After grunting and stomping at each other the fight for dominance was on! They took to a distance went up on hind legs and aggressively locked horns time and time again. Then after establishing his territory the six point grazed for a little while and went about his business.

Unfortunately, neither buck was what I consider a shooter. Just to see the deer in such a unique environment after the work and scouting you put in was a reward all its own. Most people refer to the large buck they took or “the one that got away”, but for me this was my favorite hunt
